Stress-Free Moving and Storage Tips

Wednesday, September 02, 2009 | 12:45 PM

The average person moves at least 13 times in a lifetime. Here are some suggestions for stress free moving. You can use these tricks of the trade for storage.

  • Summer is the busiest time of year for movers, so consider moving during another season.
  • Make sure to use packing tape. Others tape can leave residue on your furniture. Also, the back side of the tape can be used as a rope.
  • Use packing blankets to wrap larger items, including certain pieces of furniture such as chairs. Use tape to tightly secure that to the blanket.
  • If packing blankets are unavailable, consider using old sheets, towels or other blankets.
  • Wardrobe boxes will protect your clothes during a move, and can also be used to store off season clothing.
